Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented SME / Commercial Documentation Manager to oversee and manage the entire documentation lifecycle for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and commercial banking portfolios at our Gujranwala branch. The role requires a strategic leader who can ensure that all credit and security documentation is compliant, accurate, and executed within risk control frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Management: Oversee the preparation, vetting, execution, and archival of all SME and commercial loan agreements, security documents, and facility letters.
- Credit & Risk Compliance: Ensure all documentation strictly adheres to approved credit terms, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulations, and internal UBL risk policies.
- Security Perfection: Manage the process of creating and perfecting charges over assets (immovable/movable properties), including mortgage deeds, hypothecation agreements, and lien registrations with regulatory bodies (e.g., SECP, FBR).
- Pre-Disbursement Review: Conduct thorough pre-disbursement checks to confirm that all conditions precedent (CPs) are met before fund release.
- Coordination: Liaise with internal stakeholders (Credit Administration, Legal, Risk, and Relationship Managers) as well as external parties (clients, lawyers, and valuators) to resolve documentation discrepancies.
- Audit & Reporting: Maintain a robust tracking system for document deficiencies, deferrals, and annual reviews. Prepare reports for management and internal/external auditors.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior documentation officers, ensuring high accuracy and turnaround times.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in commercial/SME documentation within a commercial bank or financial institution.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level knowledge of credit approvals, security documentation, lien marking, and risk mitigation controls.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of SBP Prudential Regulations, Companies Act, Stamp Act, and property valuation norms.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical ability, strong written/verbal communication, and problem-solving skills to handle complex documentation cases.
- Preferred: Candidates currently working in a similar managerial capacity at a reputed bank will be given preference.
