Career Pakistan (CP) is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Data Science to lead data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics initiatives in Islamabad. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and executing the organization's data science strategy, leading data science teams, developing machine learning and predictive analytics solutions, and translating complex data into actionable business insights. The role requires a strong technical foundation combined with leadership and business acumen. The candidate will be expected to drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making, oversee machine learning projects from concept through deployment, establish best practices for model development and validation, and collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the organization's Data Science and AI strategy.
Lead, mentor, and manage data scientists, ML engineers, and analytics professionals.
Drive machine learning, predictive analytics, statistical modeling, and AI initiatives.
Identify high-impact opportunities where data science can improve business performance.
Oversee the complete lifecycle of data science projects, from problem definition and experimentation to deployment and monitoring.
Ensure models are accurate, scalable, explainable, and aligned with business requirements.
Establish standards and best practices for data science, model development, validation, and governance.
Work closely with business, technology, product, and senior management teams.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear and actionable recommendations.
Evaluate emerging AI/ML technologies and identify opportunities for innovation.
Ensure appropriate data quality, security, privacy, and responsible AI practices.
Define KPIs and measure the business impact of data science initiatives.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 10 years of professional experience, preferably in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, Advanced Analytics, or a closely related field.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
Computer Science
Machine Learning
Statistics
Applied Mathematics
Econometrics
or another closely related quantitative discipline.
Strong expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and data science methodologies.
Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and large-scale data science initiatives.
Strong business acumen with the ability to convert data-driven insights into strategic decisions.
Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.
